Meet Me in Wonderland: Prom 2011 Decorations

Well, I have shown you the invitations, the tickets, and the place cards.  Now, it is time for the second Meet Me in Wonderland prom installment: everything else!  So, settle in ..this is going to be fairly detailed!  As our guests entered the building, they were greated by an eight foot Alice in Wonderland white rabbit! I want to say a special thanks to our art teacher and her students.  They did a great job:

After entering the building, we set up a sign in/out table.  In front of it, we placed an oversized paper mache book that we made.  The letters were made with the Cricut.  We added large ribbon as a book mark.

We cemented small trees into small buckets from the dollar tree.  We added birds and butterflies to the limbs and put oversized cards around the base of the trees to cover the buckets.  At the entrance to the dance floor, we placed two paper mache, moss covered rabbits on pedestals with paper mache mushrooms at the bottom. Cheap, but cute!

The tables were covered in eggplant purple tableclothes with lime green chair sashes.

The centerpieces were logs with butterflies attached and large teacup planters with pansies in them.  I bought two boxes of jumbo playing cards to make the table numbers.  We hot glued them to dowel rods.  The logs were free; a teacher cut down a tree on his property.  Once again, cheap but cute!  The teacups were purchased at Hobby Lobby at half price.

The place settings included Alice in Wonderland stamped tags to be used as bookmarks, keychain favors in green pillow boxes with small crown stamped tags, and pinwheels from the Dollar Tree.

In the sashes, we attached paper flowers made from purple lunch napkins.

Check out the cute little cupcake table....(cupcakes courtesy of Sam's Club)

And, as usual, last but not least, the food and beverage tables covered in moss, butterflies, birds, and mushrooms...

Hope you enjoyed this year's prom pictures and ideas.  My next post will be very soon...I am working on it now.....Enjoy!
